Online consultation opportunity: Domestic abuse and sexual violence in Torbay

AVA, a national violence against women and girls charity, have been commissioned by Torbay Council to conduct a project on domestic abuse and sexual violence in the local area, with the aim of identifying local need and strengthening responses.

As part of the project, we are carrying out a consultation to gather the views of victims/ survivors, professionals and local residents in Torbay. The consultation will feed into a wider report identifying local need and opportunities for strengthening responses to domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Our aim is that all victims and survivors feel able to contribute to this consultation and benefit from the findings of the project. We encourage the views of all victims and survivors: women, men and those who identify as non-binary to participate.

We would really appreciate the opportunity to hear your views, and are inviting the following people to respond to this online consultation:

  • Victims/survivors of any of domestic abuse and sexual violence. Anyone can be directly affected by abuse and so we encourage adults (over 18) of all gender and sexual identities, ethnicities, religions and levels of ability to participate in the consultation.
  • People who live or work in Torbay. They may not have personal experience of violence and abuse but may have been affected by a friend’s or family member’s experience, or have witnessed violence and abuse in their community.
  • People who have contact with victims/survivors or perpetrators in a professional capacity.

This survey is open until 17th September 2018 and can be found via the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Torbayonlineconsultation
