Assessing risk to adults
Safelives have developed a set of resources for use by professionals working with both adults and children/young people. These help to identify the risk people face.
- The DASH Risk Checklist is used to assess risk and forms the basis of a referral to MARAC.
- DASH Risk Checklist – Guidance. It is suggested that you read these before you complete the DASH Risk Checklist.
Assessing risk to children and young people
Torbay’s Safeguarding Children Board has created an interactive threshold tool that will help assess children’s needs. This may be useful to refer to when considering the impact of domestic abuse on the whole family and where to make a referral for children and young people. In the case of high risk cases, a referral should be put through to MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub).
